Free Tandem to Win!!!

Here are some more pics of training at the beach. These were taken later in the day when we finally reached goal(The Beach).. Some of the kids got to enjoy a fun ride as well as the big kids!!! The 4 kids in the pic are from two families of local Legends in the Canungra area. See if you can pick the pilots! The first person to email me with the correct identity of the 2 pilots and a short story about either pilot (true story!!) will win a free tandem flight with the possibility of an xc adventure, (weather permitting). Don't be shy. The best story wins.

Flying the Gold Coast hinterland

Here are a few photos I took today flying from Tamborine to my old high school near the gold coast. This is Big jon banking up with the fantastic veiw in the background. We then decided to go to the beach in hopes of doing some more training however the wind died on us so we settled for the luke warm queensland water to cool off.

Site of the 2007 Worlds

Here are a couple of pics that I snapped off during this year US Open. These are very unique photos considering out of 42 competition task held here they have only cancelled 2 of them and these are the photos to show you why they were cancelled.. I was very hesitant to start the course on this day as I could see this storm approaching. Minutes later after we had started the organisers called the day off as lightning started to strike on course line. I was the first one to land at the strip and got to see some amazing crashes as pilots tried to get down in the storm front. There were a couple of outstanding landings from Andreas Olhson and paris williams who landed just as the wind was switching 360 degrees twice a minute. Somehow they pulled off there landings and unfortunately there were plenty more replacing uprights and equipment.

More Pics from the last week!!!

You might recognise most of these faces except you could get suprised with the person carrying the sting!! Any ideas on who this pilot is??????

Training Week

I am helping Leroy out with his new students that started last weekend on the training hill. He has 4 new students 2 of which are just training on weekends Adrian and Ty and then there is Michael who has come up from Sydney to learn and also Michele who lives here in the area. After some really hot days at the training hill the forecast was for it to reach over 40 degrees the next couple of days. Leroy came up with this great idea to go and train at the Beach that way we can go swimming and cool off during the days training activities and not get so worn out. We mostly just did ground handling and then at the end of the day we did some hand towing along the sand. It was great for the sport with lots of interested spectators watching from highrises and people walking along would stop and watch as most of them had never seen this happening on the Beach Before. I will put some photos up when I get them!!!! Here is a pic of michele and I flying over Canungra valley just south of launch yesterday at 3,000ft.
